poetry

back to earth

My shaky bones have started to steady again
They are not this morning
Trying to wrench themselves out of my skin

I am eating breakfast again
I have finally been sleeping
My body is finally permitting me
To sit still

Lately I have been thrashing in my own chaos
Invited into my life
By the late nights I spent on the streets
And the Redbulls I drank for dinner

Sunshine shot through me like a white line
Thoughts burning through my head so quickly
I think I’d like to open a convenience store
On the moon

But today, finally
I can sit comfortably on a slower morning
Feeding myself
With poetry and fruit
